2025 Jackson Holmes Salmon Run Multisport Event
The Multisport Event - the pinnacle event of the Salmon Run has been given a complete revamp for this years competition. Our focus when redesigning this course was to bring you an event that will help you prepare for the 2026 Coast 2 Coast and we believe we have delivered just that!
Courses can be found using the Strava Links provided or by visiting our facebook page. Please note that distances are approximate.
The event starts out with a mass start outside the Rakaia Domain for all Multisport Athletes, who, together, will tackle the 45.5km bike ride heading up Rakaia Barrhill Methven Road, before completing a triangle on River Road, Barkers Road and back onto Rakaia Barrhill Methven Road.

This years kayak route has been extended out to just over 18kms giving competitors a good kayak leg! This year we have a few changes to the Kayak Section. We will be requiring all comptitors to have their Grade 2 Kayak Certificate, as is the same with Coast 2 Coast. This year we also have TopSport running the river for us - we are sure many of you will recognise Sam and the team - we are very lucky to have them onboard so that we can deliver this new, bigger and better course! But not to fear... we will still have the trusty Rakaia Rugby Club Boys to assist you in your swift transition at Sommerton Road.

From here you will depart on foot to complete the 12.5km run course - this is a simple out and back on a trail/river track followed by the return leg back to the Rakaia Domain where you will complete a lap of the Rugby Feild before running up the Center Line for a Hero's Welcome at the Finish Line!

With the changes we are making to this years Event we understand that there will be a few Questions - we encourage you to reach out via Email or Facebook Messager. We will also add a FAQ Page to the website once we have a few questions rolling in!
With the extended length of this years Multisport Event we will also be adding in a few 'Short Course' Points. These will be on the Bike and the Run. This means that if you are not going to make the cut off times we will give you a little extra help! If you are short coursed you will not be aligable for prizes but will still get to carrying on and complete the event. We want everyone to have an awesome experience and cross that Finsh Line!
